Sweet, with just a hint of tartness -- Ginger Golds have a crisp and juicy flavor. Great for just about anything including baking, drying, and, of course, fresh eating. This apple was named after the discoverer's wife, Ginger, when the family orchard was devastated by a hurricane. Ginger Gold was one of the trees that they managed to salvage, but once matured, the fruit was not the Winesap variety they expected.
